hunter and ko are long-time friends, both raised in culinary families, learnt the art of hospitality from a young age. realised their love for cooking, followed their callings across the world from tokyo to singapore to dubai to marseille, honing skills at acclaimed kitchens, such as l'atelier de joël robuchon, al muntaha and le petit nice. now returned to aotearoa, they found their passion for genuine hospitality has not changed. at Le plônc, you can expect sincere cooking, integrous food, though often with a rebellious flair, that hunter and ko have developed along their culinary journey.

the practice
we source seasonal and sustainable produce. we work with farmers and fishermen to showcase the best nelson has to offer, and we feature wines from small wineries who, like us, care about quality more than anything.
